Play Dough Recipes

Cooked Play Dough
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/4 cup salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Food coloring
Wax paper

Mix all ingredients in a medium-size saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
When dough begins to form into a ball and becomes harder to stir (about 5 minutes), dump onto wax paper.
Cool dough and knead until smooth.
If it becomes too dry, wet hands.
If it becomes too sticky, dust with flour. 

Store in sealed container. Keeps up to two weeks.

 

Vanilla Play Dough
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water
Food coloring
Vanilla extract

Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
Mix all ingredients in a medium-size saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
When dough begins to form into a ball and becomes harder to stir (about 5 minutes), dump onto wax paper.
Cool dough and knead until smooth.
If it becomes too dry, wet hands.
If it becomes too sticky, dust with flour.

Glitter Play Dough
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup water
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
Food coloring
Glitter

Mix all ingredients except glitter in a medium-size saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
When dough begins to form into a ball and becomes harder to stir (about 5 minutes), dump onto wax paper.
Cool dough and add glitter, knead until smooth.
If it becomes too dry, wet hands.
If it becomes too sticky, dust with flour. 
Store in sealed container. Keeps up to two weeks.

 

Edible Play Dough
1/3 cup margarine
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 pounds confectioners sugar
Food coloring

Mix all ingredients together.
Make shapes, then eat.
This dough can be refrigerated, but should be used quickly.
